ISTE NETS-T Standards
I think that the standard that is most related to this activity is 5-a and 5-d.  The first standard allows participation in local and global learning.  Within this standard it gives us the opportunity to reevaluate why we teach and helping us communicate better with our students.   I think we have to first understand why we teach in order to be able to relate to our students.
